53 AIMS students from 17 different African countries graduated with the AIMS Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Sciences today at a special ceremony in the Muizenberg Pavilion. Farewell to Fritz Hahne
Prof Fritz Hahne was bid a fond farewell by students, alumni and colleagues at a special lunch held at AIMS today. Fritz has led AIMS in the position of Director, since its inception in 2003. Professor Barry Green, the former Head of the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Stellenbosch University, joined AIMS as its new director from 1 April. PGD 2009-10 commences
The Postgraduate Diploma Programme (PGD) took in a record 54 students in September 2009. The computer lab facilities were expanded to continue to accomodate one-PC-per-student. Below the students are visiting the International Office of Stellenbosch University, which helps AIMS in the necessary administration and to get visas for the PGD students.
