On 30 November 2012, a special Recognition of Achievement ceremony was held at AIMS South Africa for the January 2012 intake for the AIMS Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Sciences. On 20 June 2012, a special graduation ceremony was held in Muizenberg Pavilion for the August 2011 intake of AIMS-South Africa Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Sciences. 52 students graduated bringing the total number of AIMS graduates to 412 (including 124 women), from 32 different African countries, since the institute was opened in 2003.
