Qondisa graduated in 2013 after which she did a Research Master’s in Financial Mathematics at the University of the Western Cape as well as becoming a tutor. She worked as a Data Analyst at Woolworths in 2014 for a few months then took up a position at Sanlan Investments in 2016. She started as an MIS Specialist and then worked as a Retail Investment Analyst. “I never expected that I would one day be this educated. When I look at where I come from, it is unbelievable because I am the first person in my family to have obtained a matric certificate. I think I am also the only person in my area of Langa to have a Master’s degree. It has taken a lot of hard work to get here. I am fortunate that numbers just make sense to me but I also had to focus on my studies. It’s not easy.”
