Prof. Balazs Szendroi

Prof. Szendroi is Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Oxford. His interest lies in pure mathematics research and research development, especially on the African continent.
He received his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Cambridge in 1999.

He is a member of  Regional Steering Committee, East African Centre for Mathematical Research; a Chair of the Finance Committee, Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford; and a Director (Trustee) of Supporting African Maths Initiatives, London-based charity that aims to improve mathematics education in Africa. He was formerly a Senior Tutor (Academic Director) at St Peter’s College, Oxford and Chair of the Art Committee, Mathematical Institute, University of Oxford.

He has been a member of the AIMs Council since 2014.
