53 AIMS students from 17 different African countries graduated with the AIMS Postgraduate Diploma in Mathematical Sciences today at a special ceremony in the Muizenberg Pavilion. The graduates include 19 women – the highest number of female graduates to date. The ceremony was officiated by the Vice Chancellors of the three local universities who conferred the diplomas on their respective students.

The guest of honour, Minister Blade Nzimande, Department of Higher Education and Training, stated that AIMS should be viewed as a model for similar institutes in other disciplines in South Africa and on the continent.
