AIMS Gender in STEM Mentoring Programme

On 26 February,  AIMS House of Science hosted a Mentoring webinar session  – Mental Health & Well Being during AIMS Training  – as part of the AIMS Gender in STEM programme. The webinar featured three AIMS alumni, based in various institutions across the world and currently pursuing different career paths in academia and other sectors. The speakers were Dr Fadekemi Janet Osaye, Non-tenured Assistant Professor in Mathematics, Auburn University, USA;  Dr Naina Ralaivaosaona, Lecturer in Mathematics, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Stellenbosch University; Mr Ghislain Niyongabo,  Social Entrepreneur, Guru Academy, Burundi; and Dr Dinna Ranirina, Postdoctoral Fellow at AIMS South Africa. The speakers shared their career experiences, opportunities and gave tips on how to succeed during AIMS training while looking after your health and wellbeing especially at the time of the COVID-19 global pandemic.
